Got a burning question? Let us help.
How much does a property accountant cost?
Our property plan is from $149 a month, and that covers your bookkeeping, a dedicated property accountant, and your personal tax return, for your whole portfolio. There is no lock-in contract and no per-property surcharge. For comparison, most property specialist plans in Australia start around $275 a month.
Is Xero included in the price?
Yes, depending on the plan you are on, and we keep it set up and up to date for you, so there is nothing separate to manage.
What if my properties are held in a trust or a company?
We work with property held personally, jointly, in a trust, or through a company. Structures like these have their own lodgement requirements, so on your free consult we will confirm exactly what is involved for your setup and what your plan covers, with no guesswork.
Do you handle my personal tax return as well?
Yes. Your personal tax return is prepared and lodged as part of the plan, alongside the bookkeeping and the property accounting, so it is all handled by the one team and nothing falls between the cracks.
Can I switch to you part way through the year?
Yes, and most people do. We handle the changeover for you, get Xero set up, bring in your property data, and speak to your previous accountant so you are not left in the middle of it. You can start at any point in the year.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No. The plan is month to month and you can cancel any time. We would rather earn your business each month than tie you into a contract.
What happens if my portfolio grows?
Your plan grows with you. As you add properties we bring them into your bookkeeping and returns, and your dedicated accountant already knows your situation, so there is no starting over. It stays one simple monthly price.
Can you work with my existing depreciation schedule?
Yes. If you already have a schedule from a quantity surveyor, we will use it and track the deductions across your portfolio year on year. If you don’t have one, we can arrange it through our partner, Duo Tax.
